Straw crushers: A breakthrough solution for processing long-fiber organic fertilizer raw materials

Shredding long-fiber raw materials like crop stalks has long been a challenge in organic fertilizer production. Materials such as corn, wheat, and rice stalks are tough and prone to tangling; conventional equipment often suffers from clogging or fails to achieve the required particle fineness. Straw fertilizer crushers, designed specifically for this purpose, offer a targeted solution to these difficulties.

The core mechanism of a straw fertilizer crusher relies on a combination of cutting and impact. The equipment typically employs a system of rotating hammers and stationary blades: high-speed hammers deliver powerful blows to the material, while fixed blades on the inner casing create a shearing action, cutting and shredding the long fibers segment by segment. Third, it accommodates materials with high moisture content: certain models can process fresh straw with 15%–25% moisture, eliminating the need for pre-drying and thereby reducing pre-processing costs.

Key considerations for equipment selection include: opting for wear-resistant alloy steel hammers to extend service life; utilizing forced feeding mechanisms to eliminate the risks associated with manual feeding; and matching capacity to the production scale—small lines can use 7.5–15 kW models (500–1,000 kg/h output), while medium-sized lines require 30 kW or higher (2–3 tons/h output).
