Chain Crusher

Chain crushers are crushing equipment specifically designed for high-moisture, high-fiber organic materials. In organic fertilizer production lines, they play a crucial role in breaking down and crushing fermented, lumpy materials. Unlike hammer mills, which are susceptible to clogging by wet materials, and unlike roller crushers, which are ineffective against fibers, chain crushers rely on high-speed rotating chains to beat and shear the material, allowing both wet and fibrous materials to pass smoothly. The equipment has a simple structure; individual chains can be replaced when worn, making routine maintenance easy. For organic fertilizer processing projects that need to process fermented chicken manure, pig manure, straw, and other sticky, wet, fibrous materials, chain crushers are a practical choice for the crushing section.

Working Principle

After the material falls into the crushing chamber from the top feed inlet, it is thrown outwards by the high-speed rotating rotor. Multiple sets of steel chains are suspended in layers on the rotor. Under centrifugal force, the chains spread radially, repeatedly beating, shearing, and rubbing the material. The material is continuously impacted and crushed between the chain and the chamber wall liner. Particles reaching the required fineness are discharged through the bottom screen, while substandard material remains inside the chamber for further crushing until it can pass through the screen holes. Throughout the process, the chain oscillates continuously, preventing wet material from adhering and accumulating on the chain.

Applicable Raw Materials

Fermented Organic Fertilizer: Fermented and lumpy materials such as chicken manure, pig manure, sheep manure, and cow manure.

Agricultural Waste: Straw powder, rice husks, peanut shells, mushroom residue, and biogas residue.

High-Moisture Materials: Sludge, peat, pond mud, and other sticky and wet materials with high moisture content.

Compound Fertilizer Raw Materials: Urea, ammonium phosphate, potassium fertilizer, and other lumpy inorganic fertilizers.

Organic-Inorganic Mixtures: Intermediate products resulting from the mixing of fermented materials and chemical fertilizers that have lumped together.

Basic Raw Material Requirements

The moisture content of the incoming material should generally not exceed 40%. Within this range, the equipment can crush smoothly without clogging or screen sticking.

It is strictly forbidden to mix hard objects such as iron blocks or stones into the material, as these will break the chain or puncture the chamber wall. Before feeding, the material should be screened and iron removed.

Regarding particle size, although the chain crusher has a certain crushing capacity for large pieces, it is recommended to pre-treat large pieces with a coarse crusher first to ensure crushing efficiency and screen life.
