Safety operating guidelines for double roller press granulators in production

Double roller press granulators are key equipment for making granules in fertilizer, feed, chemical, and other industries. However, improper operation can lead to mechanical failures or even safety accidents.

1.Pre-start Safety Checks

Check equipment condition: Make sure rollers, bearings, and drive components aren’t loose, worn, or cracked. Ensure the lubrication system has enough oil.

Clear foreign objects: Remove any leftover material or hard objects from the feed inlet, roller surfaces, and discharge outlet to prevent clogging or roller damage.

2.Safe Operation During Running

Feed evenly: Avoid dumping large amounts suddenly to prevent roller overload, motor burnout, or roller damage.

Monitor operating parameters: Keep a close eye on current, temperature, pressure, etc. Stop immediately if anything is abnormal.

Keep metal objects out: Use magnetic separation or screening before feeding to prevent hard objects from damaging rollers or jamming the double roller press granulator.

3.Shutdown and Maintenance Safety

Shut down properly: Stop feeding first. Wait until all material is cleared before cutting power. Never stop the machine under load.

Regular maintenance: Check the lubrication system before each shift. Replace worn roller skins periodically to ensure long-term stable operation.

Cut power for repairs: Always disconnect power and hang warning signs before maintenance or cleaning to prevent accidental startup.

4.Operator Safety Protection

Wear protective gear: Use gloves, safety glasses, dust masks, etc., during operation to avoid injury and dust inhalation.

Get trained: Operators must know the double roller press granulator’s capabilities and emergency procedures. Untrained personnel should never operate it alone.

Following these safety rules consistently reduces breakdowns and keeps production safe and efficient.
