Our company recently completed a joint inspection at our Malaysian customer’s factory with two double roller press granulators and one vertical disc mixer. The equipment was then unpacked and shipped. This marks the first time the customer has simultaneously purchased mixing and granulation equipment, and it is also the first time our vertical disc mixer has been exported in combination with this model of granulator.
The customer sent a process engineer to the factory to focus on verifying the compatibility between the mixer’s disc inclination angle, the opening and closing speed of the bottom discharge gate, and the granulator’s feeding rhythm. The joint inspection involved a 1:1 simulated feeding process in the workshop, using customer-provided raw materials and running continuously for 40 minutes. The mixer discharged material smoothly without any residue; the granulator received material evenly, and the extrusion rollers did not slip. The customer approved the synchronized operation of the three machines and confirmed the final installation dimensions on-site.
The vertical disc mixer, a non-standard piece of equipment in this shipment, has a disc diameter of 1.6 meters and an overall height of 2.4 meters. During disassembly, the motor, reducer, and granulator were packaged separately. The granulator body was supported by a steel frame and wrapped with stretch film to prevent edge damage. Both granulators were shipped as complete units, with only the feed hopper removed to reduce the internal height of the container. Accessories included consumable parts such as mixer scraper blades and granulator rollers, all 10% extra as per the contract.
A joint inspection record form was included with the shipment, signed by both the customer’s engineer and our quality inspector. The three units were packed into two containers, which have been delivered to the freight forwarder and are about to be shipped to Port Klang.
