Horizontal Mixer
The horizontal ribbon mixer is a piece of equipment that utilizes a horizontal main shaft to drive rotating ribbon for material mixing; it is commonly used in the production of organic and compound fertilizers to blend various raw materials uniformly. By employing dual-layer ribbon style blades to create convective and shear mixing actions, it can thoroughly mix powdery, granular, or semi-moist materials in a short period. Featuring a compact structure and high mixing efficiency, it is a standard component of the batching and mixing stage in organic fertilizer production lines.
Working Principle
Materials enter the mixing trough through the top inlet and land on the horizontal main shaft. As the shaft rotates, the ribbon drive the material in both axial and radial directions. The outer paddles push the material toward one end, while the inner ribbon push it back toward the opposite end, creating a vigorous convective circulation. Inside the trough, the material is continuously turned, sheared, and dispersed, allowing the various components to achieve a uniform mixture quickly. Once mixing is complete, the bottom discharge gate is opened to release the material.
Equipment Components
Mixing Trough: U-shaped or cylindrical welded steel body; features a top inlet and a bottom discharge gate.
Main Shaft and ribbon: Horizontal shaft fitted with ribbon-style blades; blades are made of wear-resistant steel and arranged at specific angles.
Drive System: Motor drives the shaft rotation via a gearbox; designed for optimal speed and sufficient torque output.
Discharge Mechanism: Pneumatic or manual bottom discharge gate; ensures rapid discharge with minimal residue.
Frame: Welded structural steel base supporting the mixing trough and drive system; equipped with vibration-dampening pads.
Performance Features
Rapid, Uniform Mixing: Dual-direction convective mixing ensures high uniformity in a short time.
Minimal Residue: Small clearance between paddles and trough walls ensures clean discharge, reducing material residue and cross-contamination.
High Adaptability: Suitable for mixing powdery, granular, and semi-moist materials; wide range of applications.
Stable Operation: Low shaft speed and high torque result in minimal vibration and low noise levels.
Reliable Sealing: Shaft-end sealing structure prevents material leakage and protects the bearings.
