Coating Machine

The fertilizer coating machine is a user-friendly piece of equipment designed for surface treatment of granules; within a fertilizer production line, it applies a coating to finished granules to prevent caking. It offers flexible automation capabilities, allowing for manual control of liquid and powder application rates or integration into a centralized control system for automatic adjustment. The coating process is continuous and integrates seamlessly with the screening and packaging stages. Daily operation—primarily involving the adjustment of coating agent dosage and checking nozzle functionality—is straightforward for operators to master.

Working Principle

Once finished granules enter the rotating drum, the drum’s rotation causes the material to tumble and scatter continuously. Liquid coating agents are sprayed evenly onto the granule surfaces in an atomized state via a spray system. As the granules rub against each other and tumble, the coating agent is uniformly applied to form a thin film. Powdered coating agents are fed into the drum at a controlled rate by a feeder and adhere to the granule surfaces. Upon completion of the coating process, the material discharges from the outlet and is transported to the packaging machine.

Operation Methods

Before startup, check the drum for residual material, ensure spray lines and nozzles are clear, and verify that the powder feeder is operating correctly.

Start the drum rotation; once it is running smoothly under no-load conditions, open the inlet to receive material. Adjust the liquid spray or powder feed rates based on material flow and coating requirements.

During production, monitor the uniformity of the coating; the surface of the discharged granules should be evenly covered. Periodically check for nozzle clogs and replenish the powder hopper as needed.

To shut down, stop the material feed first; once the drum is empty, turn off the liquid spray or powder supply, and finally stop the drum rotation.

Applicable Fertilizer Types

Compound fertilizer granules: Anti-caking coating for various compound fertilizer granules.

Organic fertilizer granules: Surface smoothing and moisture-proof coating for granular organic fertilizers.

Bio-organic fertilizer granules: Protective coating for granules containing beneficial microbes.

Organic-inorganic compound fertilizer granules: Surface treatment for mixed-type fertilizers.

Single-nutrient fertilizer granules: Moisture-proof coating for hygroscopic fertilizers such as urea.
